Daycare Center “Gali”, Alytus
AmCham Lithuania believes in giving back to the community and has been actively involved in various projects related to corporate social responsibility. In 2005 the association has established a charity fund that is being supplemented every year during the traditional AmCham Christmas Gala.
As we all continue adapting in these challenging times, we encourage you to keep in mind the communities, who were affected the most. We invite you to maintain your thoughtful support for the AmCham initiative, which continues to give back to charities across the country.

GALI & DEGUČIAI
„GALI“ and „Degučiai“ are daycare centers for children in Alytus and Marijampolė respectively, who organize social activities for children. Learn more>>
“For five years in a row, AmCham Lithuania has been contributing to the well-being of Save the Children children’s daycare centers. In recent years, thanks to this association, children’s daycare centers have received as many as 34k Eur of support. Thanks to the support provided, the provision of social services in children’s daycare centers was ensured, their premises were improved, camps for children were organized and psychologist consultations were provided.
Consistency is especially important for the children cared for by Save the Children – this is something the children usually lack at home. Thanks to the long-term friendship with AmCham Lithuania, we can consistently help the children. Both the organization and the children attending the children’s day centers can feel more at ease as the stability of the services provided by the children’s day centers is ensured” told Rasa Dičpetrienė, Head of “Gelbėkit Vaikus” (Save the Children) overseeing the mentioned daycare centers.

“This year, the first part of your support reached us just after the COVID-19 pandemic and the quarantine began. This allowed us to react immediately and focus on providing emotional assistance to the elderly, and to develop the direction of information assistance. By calling the helpline the elderly are listened to, reassured, and comforted. Silver Line consultants provide them with accurate, reliable, prompt information and advice on COVID-19, introduce, and constantly remind them about health recommendations, receive regular communication.
No wonder that during the pandemic, the need for Silver Line increased significantly, as evidenced by the more than 10-fold increase in the number of callers: in April alone, we registered more new callers than in the whole of 2019. 85 % of whom are newly registered and in need of emotional help” said Marius Čiuželis, Co-Founder and Manager of M. Čiuželis Charity Foundation overseeing Silver Line project.
