Coca-Cola shifted production from Estonia, the company's only Baltic plant now operates in Alytus. "After new jobs were created in Alytus, the production was shifted from Estonia to Lithuania. The plant in Alytus is now the only Coca-Cola plant in the Baltic states," says Ms. Laura Puidokaitė, a representative of Coca-Cola HBC. According to her, Coca-Cola moved its PET bottling line from Estonia to Lithuania. Therefore, the Alytus plant now bottles soft drinks into both PET bottles and aluminum cans. After shifting the production from Estonia to Lithuania, production capacity of the company's plant in Alytus went up around 2.5 times.
Before the production was shifted to Lithuania, the plant in Alytus was bottling Coca-Cola into 1.5l, 2.0l and 2.5l PET bottles and the so-called Bag-in-Box packaging.
